About Me
I have visited 68 lighthouses. I’ve painted lighthouses in Florida, Georgia, Hawai’i, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Orleans, New York, London and Ireland. My love of lighthouses has not only transformed the way I travel, but the way I live. When I am not traveling to a lighthouse, I am writing about or painting lighthouses. I had two solo exhibits in New York. At the National Lighthouse Museum in Staten Island, the “Shattering the Lens” exhibit showcased female light keepers. “The Voices of Lighthouses” exhibit aboard the Lilac Lighthouse Tender in Manhattan featured iconic lighthouses in New York and around the world. I endeavor through my lighthouse art to live out the motto of my alma mater, the University of Hawaii: “Maluna a’e o na lahul a pau ke ola ke kanaka” (Above all nations is humanity.) Although there are over 18,000 lighthouses in the world. They all have one mission, saving lives. |
